Diamond Key competition  

Jewellery Theatre has partnered with the writer Boris Akunin, on a captivating poetry competition, which calls upon a sense of kindness and virtue. The contest sets the task of writing a haiku, a traditional Japanese three line poem. 

The competition will be judged by Boris Akunin. The lucky winner will receive a precious prize from Jewellery Theatre - the Key Pendant, a fine jewellery piece, elaborately designed and finely crafted (full description can be found here). The writer’s fee in the amount of USD 30,000 will be paid by Jewellery Theatre directly to the children’s hospice “The House With a Beacon” (https://www.childrenshospice.ru/), a unique volunteer project. 

How to enter:

All Facebook users are welcome to participate, however each participant can only send one haiku. The competition will last one week. At the end of the period, Boris Akunin will choose the poems he enjoyed reading the most and make a short list, which he will publish in a separate post on Facebook. Then the vote for the best haiku will start and last for one week. Everyone on Facebook will be able to vote for one haiku from the short list. The author of the three line poem that will collect the most votes will become the happy owner of the precious Key Pendant. Haiku should be posted on Boris Akunin Facebook Page

Conditions of the voting of the competition was modified on 10.10.2018.

Reputable jury will vote for the best haiku from a short list of poems, which is made by Boris Akunin. Boris Akunin friends such as poet Sergéi Gandlevski, poet and musician Boris Grebenshchikov, Mitsuyoshi Numano professor of Tokyo University, poet Lev Rubinshtein will join the jury. They will collect the happy owner of the precious Key Pendant.
